DR. NANCY DURSO: We usually focus on the female for fertility. However, about 40 percent of the time the male has issues as well. The basic test for the man is a semen analysis. This involves three things, the count, which is the number, the motility, or the movement of the sperm, and the morphology, the shapes of the sperm. Many times we do not find any reason for male infertility. The treatments we use are usually IUI, or IVF, In Vitro Fertilization, and are very effective.
